JOB TITLE:

Vice President of Laboratory

SUMMARY:

Oversee all of the laboratories operations including central lab located in the corporate offices and all office laboratories across territory.

DUTIES:
•Work with Operations Management and Managing Clinical Directors to ensure all products meet quality standards and productivity requirements.  Maintain regular dialogue to learn of any issues/concerns at a early point, and intervene if necessary
•Develop and implement quality and productivity standards, objectives and protocol for all products and manufactured in labs
    •Ensure through direct action or through delegation, that all labs are staffed with appropriate numbers of trained staff
    •Analyze and address human resource needs over the short and long term, taking into account labs growth plan; maintain pool of candidates for trainee positions
    •Provide continuing education opportunities to lab staff in particular; consider continuing education needs/interests of dentists as they relate to lab products.
    •Continually evaluate new products, techniques, materials etc. to ensure the lab maintains competitive advantage in the area of lab products and methodologies

    REQUIRMENTS: 

    Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 5 years experience managing busy dental lab required.  Excellent technical lab skills required.  Good people management, communications, interpersonal and organizational skills required.  Ability to handle diverse set of position responsibilities, ranging from conceptual, strategic thinking to demonstration of good lab techniques.  Extensive travel required.

    ADDITIONAL:         
    Self Starter - Ability to work alone - Desire to achieve additional levels in this discipline. Good sense of humour - Enjoys life - Works well with others - Willing to learn and share information with others – Will work to drive costs out of the business through good work ethics, managing your time, equipment maintenance, and material costs   

    COMMENTS:            Some overtime will be required.
