Summary of Position:

If you are someone with great attention to detail who likes working with computers and has good manual dexterity, we are looking for you. Any dental experience or 3D printer experience is a plus. Digital dentistry is the future – you can be part of it now!

To fabricate dental prosthetic appliances from customer prescription forms and to repair such devices per customer orders. Dental prosthetic appliances consist primarily of full and partial dentures, crowns, bridges, full and partial cast partials, and assorted orthodontia devices (splints, veneers, etc.).

Job Responsibilities

  • Receiving physical dental impression molds or computerized models and reviewing dentists’ instructions.
  • Creating replicas of dental impressions with suitable mold materials.
  • Constructing needed prostheses and devices.
  • Restoring or replacing natural teeth by fabricating partials, bridges, dentures, etc
  • Polishing and finishing dental prostheses and devices prior to placement by dentists
  • Making adjustments to dental prostheses and devices before final placement.
  • Repairing patient prostheses and devices as needed.
  • Following up on patient deliverables in a timely manner to meet their expectations
  • Communicating with dentists and office staff in a clear and timely manner regarding patient needs and associated timelines.
  • Fabricate, alter, or repair the specified appliance according to customer’s instructions on the prescription form. 
  • Test appliance for conformance to specifications and accuracy of occlusion, using articulators and micro-meters.
  • Place appliance on apparatus that mimics bite and movement of patient’s jaw to evaluate functionality of appliance.
  • Scan appliance into lab management database upon completion of designated fabrication tasks assigned to technician and place appliance in designated area for the next step in the fabrication process.
  • Maintain a neat and clean workspace to prevent workplace damage and minimize potential for injury.

Prior Experience and Skills

• Completion of Accredited Dental Laboratory Technology Program or Dental Assisting Program.

• Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred but not required

• Two + years of experience as a dental laboratory technician preferred.

• Knowledge of dental prostheses, devices, and related technologies.

• Experience in constructing, replacing, repairing, and restoring dental devices.

• Knowledge of dental laboratory computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software

• Exceptional manual dexterity and precision.

• Superb analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Great communication and collaboration abilities.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Service Oriented; Builds positive relationships with dentists, staff and patients

• Prior exemplification of both strong character and work ethic in the workplace

Requirements:

• Completion of Accredited Dental Laboratory Technology Program or Dental Assisting Program.

• Certified Dental Technician (CDT) preferred but not required

• Two + years of experience as a dental laboratory technician preferred.

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Dental Technician experience preferred.
  • Requires manual dexterity, strong attention to detail and good spatial and visual perception.
  • Willingness to follow safety rules when operating hand tools.
