Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist who is eager to join a team-oriented practice dedicated to building long-lasting relationships with patients. The RDH will play a crucial role in promoting dental health by performing dental prophylaxis, providing oral cancer screenings and radiographic studies, charting conditions of decay and disease, and ensuring compliance with the dental practice act.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and beneath gum margins.
  • Detect disease by performing oral cancer screenings and examining gums for periodontal disease.
  • Arrest dental decay through the application of fluorides and other cavity-preventing agents.
  • Assist the dentist in managing dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification and emergency supplies.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative care, and provide reminders for upcoming visits.
  • Document dental hygiene services by recording vital signs, medical and dental histories, and charting in patient records.
  • Ensure the operation of dental equipment through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and keeping up with new techniques.
  • Manage dental supplies by maintaining inventory, anticipating needs, and verifying receipt of supplies.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.

Requirements:

  • License/Certification: Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist.
  • CPR Certification: Required.
  • Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Certification: Preferred.
