Dental Specialty Practice Manager

Position Overview

Dentist offering a full range of services ranging from cleanings to advanced oral

rehabilitation. Our staff and patients also benefit from our “in-house” lab which includes

advanced technology such as 3-D printing. Our growing practice is located in East Louisville and

we are looking for an experienced Dental Practice Manager to come and provide oversight to our

people and practice. This person will work with internal and strategic external resources to

effectively manage the practice.

Job Responsibilities – Strategic Practice and Finance Oversight

 Involvement in Strategic Practice Growth Initiatives

 Business Operations Oversight – Involvement in Fee establishment, Processes, Billing,

Insurance, Systems, Technology Decisions, etc.

 Provide Regular Financial Oversight for Practice – reporting, accounting, audits, collections,

daily close out, etc.

 Run Regular Payroll Process

 Oversee Office Environment, Security and Safety

 Create and oversee office cleaning schedule

Job Responsibilities – Staff Oversight

 Oversee staffing needs – find needed employees and subs

 Strengthen and Develop Organizational Culture

 Help Run Annual Review and Compensation Processes

 Organizational Policy – Help Develop, Implement and Enforce

 Monitor and track needed clinical staff training and certifications

 Involvement in Employee Disciplinary Processes as Needed

 Exit Interviews – Gain Insight into Departures and Help Make Needed Changes

Job Responsibilities – Office/Front Desk Oversight (secondary)

 Help answer the phone, schedule patients, welcome and check in patients, answer

questions when needed

 Help check out patients, collect payments and e-file insurance when needed

 Answer insurance questions or get resolution when needed

 Help with updating health histories, printing routing slips, or other responsibilities as

needed

 Help oversee office initiatives such as renovations, expansions or the purchase of

equipment or services

Prior Experience and Skills

 Preferred prior experience in Dental Practice Management or similar role

 Prior success managing and motivating staff

 Service Oriented; Builds positive relationships with dentists, staff and patients

 Strong leadership, relationship and communication skills

 Preferred knowledge of dentistry and ability to support dentists with their needs

 Desired HR background (recruitment, compensation, benefits, reviews, policy, etc.)

 Prior experience running payroll, creating reports, metrics and other business financials

 Knowledge of insurance, how it works and getting successful outcomes for patients

 Knowledge of current industry safety standards and regulations

 Effective and objective conflict management skills

 Strong organizational and process ability

 Excellent problem solver – ability to respond to patients’ questions and problems

 High initiative and ability to work independently

 Intermediate Skills in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel and Power Point)

 Prior use of Dental Systems desired but not required (i.e. Open Dental, Deixis, etc.)
