Position Title: Dental Technician – Ceramist

Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 annually (based on experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Dental Technician – Ceramist to join our dental laboratory team in Durham, NC. The role involves improving and replacing teeth by crafting high-quality dental prosthetics, including bridges, crowns, and dentures. Working from dentist prescriptions, you will create restorations that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled ceramist who excels in crafting dental restorations with precision and artistry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and adjust crown and bridge dental prostheses to ensure proper fit, including margins, contours, and contact points.
- Build and contour a variety of ceramic restorations, including large bridges, implant cases, all-ceramic crowns, inlays, onlays, and veneers.
- Perform precise hand stacking of porcelain to achieve the desired esthetics and contour.
- Apply tooth shades to match specifications and blend seamlessly with existing teeth.
- Oversee the entire ceramic firing process and apply the final glaze layer for restorations.
- Stain and glaze a wide range of dental restorations.
- Experience with Miyo is a plus but not required.

Qualifications:
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
- Thorough knowledge of porcelain pressing technology, crown morphology, and crown and bridge case design.
- Advanced expertise in creating ceramic prosthetic restorations, including experience with Zirconia and Lithium Disilicate, as well as implant restorations.
- Proficient in the final contouring and glazing of all ceramic systems, with occasional layering as needed.
