Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; Wednesday: 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Job Description:

Dental Career Services is helping a stunning private practice hire a Registered Dental Assistant with 3+ years of experience or a Registered Extended Functions II Dental Assistant. The ideal candidate will have experience working with a high-volume patient base placing sealants and interim restorations. You will be responsible for providing the patient with high-quality care by performing a variety of office, laboratory, and patient care duties. This usually entails helping the dentist handle patients, instruments, and supplies during the treatment of the teeth, mouth, and gums. You will also document patient care and take x-rays. This position is geared toward someone who has a passion for oral health and a desire to learn. You will have the benefit of working with a collaborative and dynamic team while using the most up-to-date technology and practice standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Applies pit and fissure sealants
  • Applies interim therapeutic restorations
  • Take and document patient dental history and updates, as well as overall health and medication history
  • Assist dentist by handling supplies and instruments as requested
  • Prepare tables and trays for dentist with necessary instruments and supplies
  • Clean and sterilize instruments, and prepare treatment rooms as needed
  • Take high-quality digital radiographs
  • Perform patient charting as instructed by the dentist
  • Welcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment room
  • Assist the doctor with all dental procedures and patient charting
  • Take high-quality radiographs
  • Maintain patient confidentiality through HIPAA compliance
  • Follow all OSHA and BBP (Blood borne Pathogen) federal guidelines
  • Assist hygienist(s) when requested

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Licensed as a Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF) in California (2+ years of experience) or as an RDA in California (4+ years of experience in cosmetic dentistry)
  • Current CPR certification preferred
  • Radiology certification required
  • Possess a professional and positive attitude
  • Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA and Infection Control training as required by law
