Job Summary:
A dental practice in Grafton, WI, is seeking a dedicated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive dental hygiene care, including preventive services, patient education, and therapeutic treatments, to promote optimal oral health. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient screenings, including assessment of oral health conditions, review of health history, oral cancer screenings, and dental charting.
- Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing to remove plaque, calculus, and stains from teeth.
- Apply preventive materials such as sealants and fluorides to enhance oral health.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, including brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting treatments and care plans.
- Collaborate with the dental team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and technologies through continuing education.
Qualifications:
- Current dental hygienist license in the state of Wisconsin.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited program.
- Proficiency in dental hygiene procedures, including prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and the application of preventive materials.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to educate and motivate patients regarding their oral health.
- Experience with dental software and digital radiography is preferred.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
