Our client is dynamic and patient-focused general dental practice in Denver, Colorado. This is a private practice (not DSO owned or managed) and has a team of exceptional clinicians. The practice does not treat any specialty in house – just top of the line bread and butter dentistry.
They are seeking an experienced Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) to join their team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in a wide range of dental procedures and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Must have prior experience with placing fillings, creating temps and packing cord. The EDDA will play a crucial role in assisting our dentist with various clinical tasks, ensuring patients receive top-tier care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sealants, fillings, temp fabrication and cord packing under supervision of the treating dentist
- Assist the dentist in all general dentistry procedures, including restorative, surgical, and preventive care.
- Perform expanded duties as allowed by the Colorado State Dental Board, such as placing fillings, taking impressions, and making temporary crowns.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure the patient is comfortable and informed throughout the dental procedure.
- Take and process X-rays as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized operatory, following infection control protocols.
- Provide post-operative instructions and patient education on oral health.
- Manage patient records accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the dental team to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Assist in administrative tasks, such as scheduling and patient follow-ups when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Certified Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) in the state of Colorado.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a dental assistant role.
- Proficient in taking digital X-rays, making impressions, and fabricating temporary restorations.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- CPR certification required.
